SATURDAY WORKSHOPS

Paste Paper Play
Saturday, January 23, 2016. 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Cost: $35.00 includes most materials.

Learn to make your own decorated paper by making paste papers. Create colorful, vibrant patterns by covering paper with paste and then drawing in the paste, stamping, combing or pulling. This centuries-old process creates exciting, intricate designs with endless possibilities. Come play in the colors and the paste and create your own personalized, playful papers to use in books, stationary, collage, weaving or whatever projects you like.

An extra $5.00 buys book cloth to decorate for one of the other classes.

Wire Binding

Cost: $110.00. Includes most materials needed.

Daniel Kelm invented a style of bookbinding called “wire edge binding” in the mid-1980s. The pages of this book are sewn on wires and the book lies flat when open. Bring a Japanese screw punch if you have one. We will start with a drawing/painting on pages and then bind these into the book. Bring two colors of acrylic inks to work with.
