Winter and Spring CLASSES
BOOKBINDING CLASSES – Thurday evenings
6 Classes
Session 1: January 14, 21, 28 and February 11, 18, and 25, 2010 --  6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
For beginning or continuing students, this class will focus on buildings skills in sewing, folding and creating books from concept to final product. We will create 5-6 books in different sewing structures that will fit into a slipcase to hold all your samples. Bindings will include Sewing on tapes and cords, a Japanese stab binding, Coptic loop stitch (all along and across the spine) and one other, depending on time.
Cost: $200.00 per session, includes most materials.

6 Classes
Session 2: March 11, 18, 25 and April 1, 8, and 15, 2010 -- 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Cost: $200.00 per session, includes most materials.
Session 2 students will be complete Coptic binding with wooden boards and Ethiopian headbands. There may be an additional fee for the lumber, but I am hoping to come up with a reasonably priced sample to use.
          
BOOKBINDING CLASSES –Saturday Mornings
Pamphlet Stitched Books
Two Saturdays,  February 6 and 13, 2010 -- 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Cost: $125.00, includes paper for text block, board fabric linen cord, boards and cloth.
Learn three ways to assemble small, thin books with hard covers. You can bring a small pamphlet to recover or use blank paper. To personalize your book you can bring paste paper you have made, or other printed paper you like.

Crossed Structure Leather Binding
Saturday, April 3, 2010 -- 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Cost: $90.00, plus $15.00 for materials (leather, paper, thread).
Learn to sew text blocks directly to a leather cover. Two sewing methods with be incorporated to produce a finished book.
